Germany, Summer 2006 a sea of black, red and gold. The 2006 Soccer World Cup changed the way Germans perceived their own country for ever. Half a year later filmmaker Florian Thalhofer traveled 2562 km through Germany to talk to people that still have a German flag outside their houses. He was accompanied by photographer Juliane Henrich. The Korsakow-Film "Forgotten Flags" was originally presented by the Goethe-Institute. [Forgotten Flags] was published on DVD-Rom by Mediamatic, Amsterdam. It comes with a bonus track: [small world] - Florian Thalhofer's first interactive documentary, released in 1997, about what it is like to grow up in a small town. |
